Warehouse Associate – Rosser, MB

Description:

Warehouse associates spend most of their days keeping track of products or materials within the warehouse that allow them to load food safe products into a trailer. In addition to picking orders and loading trailers they are responsible for things such as inventory, cleaning and checking the products for damage. They also provide backup to the Packaging Operators as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate a forklift
  • Equipment safety checks to ensure the working environment remains safe
  • Picking and staging outbound orders practicing FIFO
  • Coordinate receipt of all packaging and materials being delivered to the warehouse.
  • Ensure that all material and ingredients are entered into the Warehouse Management System immediately upon receipt.
  • Organizing warehouse / pallets as per Supervisors direction
  • Work with packing operators to efficiently moved packaged material to warehouse racks, keeping them organized to aid in FIFO and loading the trucks.
  • Work closely with the Shipping Coordinator to organize loads required to ship that day.
  • Maintaining cleanliness of equipment and work area
  • Reporting issues to when they arise – this should be done quickly to minimize any impact on the efficiency of production.
  • Strive to eliminate damaged bags and address them in a timely manner to limit issues.
  • Review, complete and ensure the accuracy of documents.

    • Reclaim
    • Inventory
  • Coordinate activities with other departments to effectively complete assigned tasks
    • Packaging Operators and Lab Technicians
  • Operate tools and machinery safely and efficiently according to company protocol
  • Wear protective clothing and equipment as required
  • Follow Health & Safety and HACCP principles and practices

Qualifications

  • Secondary school diploma or equivalency; post-secondary degree is an asset. 
  • Previous work in a food manufacturing operation is preferred.
  • Experience in warehouse operations. (Packaging experience beneficial)
  • Forklift certification and/or ability to successfully complete forklift training
  • Able to work long hours on one’s feet and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Lifting pallets and bags weighing 25 kg.
  • OK with shift work.
  • Computer literate
  • Familiar with common warehouse tools and equipment
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • High attention to detail and numerical ability
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Technical skills
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Makes safety a priority.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Work independently with minimal direction
