We currently have an opening for a Seasonal Labourer at our Paterson Grain facility in Gleichen, AB. The successful candidate will work closely with the local team to support the safe, efficient and profitable operation in our crop input facility. This position will be a seasonal role from approximately April-August 2023. The successful candidate must have weekend availability.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with facility operations regarding fertilizer and crop protection products
- Maintain safe and effective handling of fertilizer, chemical, seeds, and other product inventories handled at the location in accordance with Health & Safety guidelines
- Organize the chem shed on a weekly basis for more visibility as the inventory moves
- Maintain, clean and operate facility equipment;
- Deliveries of chemical and seed to local customers;
- Create and maintain customer loyalty by demonstrating integrity, service, market knowledge and professionalism in all dealings with customers.
- Deliveries of chemical and seed to and from other Paterson Grain facilities
- Operate a forklift to load products into farm trucks and unload product into the facility
- Learn & assist with crop operations as required (if applicable) and other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Class 1/3A Preferred
- Experience with agriculture/farm equipment considered an asset;
- Mechanical aptitude is preferred;
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and resourceful;
- Strong communication skills.
