Industrial Electrician – Winnipeg, MB

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Electrician to participate in maintaining the plant electrical and control systems. The facility is a new greenfield build that is run with the most advanced automation programming available. The facility operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, requiring strong coordination and management to ensure seamless operations across shifts.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the repair and maintenance of all electrical systems through a combination of contractor supervision and hands-on work.
• Maintain and troubleshoot PLC and instrumentation within the site.
• Supervise and manage any electrical contractors on-site, with a focus on safety and food safety.
• Build and contribute to a plant-wide safety culture, believing in zero injuries.
• Utilize the CMMS including creation of notifications and completion of work orders.
• Participate in troubleshooting issues, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Participate in a respectful work environment where employees can bring forward not only ideas and improvements but concerns of all nature, including safety and harassment issues.
• Ensure all electrical work is done following applicable regulations.
• Participate in mill operational meetings looking to eliminate pain points and find opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Be willing and able to be on-call on a regular basis to support the mill team.
• Ensure compliance with HACCP, FDA, CFIA, ISO 22000 and other food safety regulations, with a focus on contamination prevention
• Maintain rigorous food safety and quality standards.
• Take electrical line calls and complete all jobs as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Ability to work in a high-paced food production environment
• Red Seal Electrician (preferred).
• 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
• Strong knowledge of PLC hardware, PLC programming, instrumentation
• Experience in food processing is considered an asset.
• Working knowledge of electrical code and applicable standards
• Strong troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Hours

• Full time position, 40 hours weekly
• Monday to Friday 8- hour shifts, rotating day and evening shifts
• rotating on-call after-hours support for nights and weekends.
• Overtime may be required during peak periods
