Paterson Grain is currently seeking a highly dependable, detail-oriented, and passionate professional to fill a winter term Accounting Student role. The Accounting Student will be responsible in providing administrative and accounting support for our various related companies under the umbrella of Paterson GlobalFoods Inc. The successful candidate will manage day-to-day activities including AP Invoice coding and reconciliation, JV preparation and entry, assistance in month end tasks and general office duties such as filing, photocopying, etc. This individual will work closely with the Accounting Analyst, Assistant Controller, and other Head Office staff.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, review, verify and enter invoices for payment
- Sort, code, and match invoices to purchase orders
- JV preparation and entry
- Month-end reconciliations and other month-end tasks
- Filing and other administrative duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Working towards a Degree or Diploma in Finance & Accounting
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook
- Outstanding communication skills
- Basic accounting experience in a high-volume environment would be an asset but is not required
